Danny explained: “There are 10 other male actors with matching cufflinks on – I think it is quite smart, we’re teasing the audience. But only Christmas will tell.”

The talented actor also shared that he is sad to see his soap mum Lorraine Stanley, who plays Karen Harding, leave the soap.

Danny said: “I don’t know when she leaves or how she leaves but I know it’s been announced. I’m just pleased to have worked with Lorraine and known her for five years.

“It will be a shame to see her go but I wish her the best of luck.”

Her upcoming departure from the show was announced in July after seven years in the role.

A source told The Sun: “It’s always a tough call for bosses when deciding which characters will leave the soap, but it has to be done to keep storylines fresh and create new arcs for characters.

“Lorraine had a great run on the soap and was a real scene stealer with her comic timing and she has certainly made her mark with fans.”
