Strictly Come Dancing star Kai Widdrington felt it was the right time to leave the competition alongside Angela Rippon.
Kai, 28, and Angela, were eliminated from the BBC show on Saturday night (November 18) during week nine at Blackpool. They found themselves in the bottom two for the third time running, but the judges unanimously saved Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell.
The TV duo appeared on Monday’s instalment (November 20) of It Takes Two where they reflected on their exit. Speaking to presenter Fleur East, Kai gushed: “Getting to Blackpool is a massive achievement but to get their with Angela, it really was special.

“It was an emotional night that we got eliminated but it somehow felt right.” Kai confessed that when he was doing his final dance with Angela, who is the oldest contestant to ever take part in the show, they touched upon being voted out in Blackpool.
Turning to Angela, he said: “When we were doing our little dance at the end I was like, ‘There’s not many better places to do it than here in this beautiful ballroom’.” He added: “We both have our own histories with Blackpool and now we have one beautiful memory there together.”
Things turned emotional on Saturday night as Angela thanked Kai for the experience they’d shared together on the show. “The person who has to get the most credit is this gentleman here,” she said.

“I keep telling him he’s an old soul on young shoulders. He’s 28 and I’m 79 so there’s a 51 year difference in our age but he has looked after me so brilliantly. The TV presenter continued: “He’s a wonderful dancer, a great choreographer, but most of all, he’s a terrific teacher. And he has the patience of a saint, he really does.”
As Kai started welling up, Angela demanded: “Don’t you dare cry.” All I can say is that he got me here and he and his partner Nadiya are in every sense of the word, beautiful people. And I am so pleased to have you in my life.”
Kai delivered an equally gushing tribute to his dance partner, saying: “Since week one when I met this amazing woman, you know as she said, I wasn’t even born when she did Come Dancing. I had to ask my parents about this amazing Morecambe and Wise moment that was so famous.
And like Angela just said, there’s a 50-year age gap between us but I feel like I’ve known her for fifty years. We’re like mates and I’m so proud of you, you should be proud of yourself and it’s been my absolute honour and pleasure to dance with you, especially in this beautiful ballroom tonight.”
