Naked Netflix star dons whipped cream bikini as she recreates iconic Varsity Blues scene

A Netflix star ditched her clothes in place for a whipped cream bikini as she recreated a very racy scene in a 1990s classic flick.

TV action-comedy Obliterated landed on the streaming platform on Thursday (November 30), following an elite special forces team thwarting a deadly terrorism attack to save the day in Las Vegas. While its chock-a-block with bombs and booze, one steamy scene stood out upon the rest.

Actress Kimi Rutlegde, who plays national security agent Maya Choi, stripped completely naked sporting nothing but whipped cream to cover up her modesty. And the icing on the cake: two cherries stuck into her cream-covered boobs.

Maya pulled off the dazzling on-screen display after finding out her crush loves R-rated teen flick, Varsity Blues. “Hey, cowboy. I think I’ve got a cure for your Varsity Blues,” she says walking into the bedroom before a cherry falls from her breast. But the scene comes to an abrupt end after she finds out that her crush has just slept with another colleague.

The original scene in Brian Robbins 1999 coming-of age-comedy sees Darcy, played by Ali Larter, sport the infamous outfit for second-string high school quarterback, Mox, played by James Van Der Beek – as she asks if he wants an “ice cream sundae”. Just like in Obliterated, the Mox didn’t get his dessert.

The scene has been parodied in countless Hollywood movies, but most notably by Chris Evans in 2001 spoof film, Not Another Teen Movie.

Obliterated comes from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald. But despite high hopes, the satirical series has been slammed by reviewers, receiving just 5.7 out of 10 on IMDb in its first 24 hours.

One critic from Variety described the show as “nearly unwatchable hodgepodge of nonsense littered with penises and explosives”. Another from The Telegraph, who rated it one star, added: “Call off the search: the worst show of 2023 is here.”
