EastEnders viewers are desperate to uncover the identities of the upcoming Christmas murder and some eagle-eyed viewers think they spotted a major clue in Tuesday’s episode of the BBC soap (December 12) .
Kathy Beale was seen coping with thr aftermath of the news that Rocky has committed arson on her café as she attempted to distract herself by putting up Christmas decorations. As she was hanging some purple tinsel on the wall and rummaging through a box of purple ornaments, Ian was seen pushing her to call the police and report him.
She can be heard saying: “Rocky needs to pay for what he did,” but fans also spotted another clue. Kathy’s connection to the colour purple is very notable as that’s the colour she is wearing in the Christmas murder teaser.

She’s also been known to be associated with the colour purple when major event have happened, such as when she met up with Cindy for the first time in over two decades, Kathy was wearing a light purple top. Fans took to X to comment on the theory.
“obsessed with kathy putting up her PURPLE Christmas decorations, it’s. sign!!!!!” gushed one fan. “Is the fact that Kathy was putting up purple tinsel a nod to her #TheSix outfit? I think so” penned a second. A third added: “NOT THE PURPLE TINSEL! And she said Rocky needs to pay for what he’s done this is a clue.”
Kathy later scolded Nish in The Vic for piling debt on Rocky. Kathy had demanded an apology, but Nish refuted her claims before unleashing a vile attack on Bernie, who had gotten caught in the crossfire.
Keanu lashed out at Nish, but the fight was defused. Elsewhere, Linda prepared to face her first Christmas without Mick and was saddened to learn that Nancy and Lee weren’t coming home.
Linda became incensed when she received a photo from Dean, who was dressed as Santa, with Ollie at the Beale’s Eels new grotto. She headed there to confront him, where she let rip, and Keanu told Jade that her dad was a sexual predator.
Jade was disgusted and left Walford before Dean headed to The Vic to interrupt the choir performance with Linda’s false confession pardoning him of her rape. With the events of the evening taking its toll, Linda received a final blow from Johnny who revealed he wouldn’t be home for Christmas either, and she turned to a bottle of vodka for support, finally falling off the wagon.
