One new horror film “goes too far” and had audience members vomiting when it was shown in cinemas.
That film is In A Violent Nature, directed by Chris Nash – who has since broken his silence on the screening incident. It’s entirely shot from a vicious serial killer’s perspective as he goes around murdering a group of teens.
The new twist on the slasher genre has got tongues wagging in plenty of circles, and at the Chicago Critics Film Festival, one viewer reportedly threw up. An audio clip released of the incident features others saying: “Oooh!” in shock, before awkward cheers and laughter broke out at one particularly gory scene.

One critic who was also at the screening said: “I was at this screening. If this is the kill I’m thinking of, people with a weak stomach might lose their lunch watching it. Probably with all the laughter I didn’t hear anyone throwing up.”
Now Chris Nash has spoken out about the viral incident, though he isn’t sure if it actually happened or not. He told Dexerto: “I have no idea whether or not this is true. I can’t take any pride in it, although I’m also not concerned.”
He went on: “During the premiere of Julia Ducournau’s Raw in Toronto, there were reports of patrons fainting. And I know the guy that fainted, and he had a fever heading into that movie.
“He was not well, but he was just such a fan. He was like, ‘I gotta watch this movie.’ And so it was just because he was sick that he fainted. But it doesn’t matter. If you’re sitting down and anything happens to you then that’s the story.”
But there’s apparently one kill in the film that viewers reckon is violent enough to cause a serious need for sick bags, with one social media user saying: “If this is the scene I believe, you can’t imagine what awaits you. It is a scene that has never been made in a horror movie, especially in a slasher. The film itself is like a Friday the 13th, but uncensored with a kind of artistic work.”

Another said: “I’m pretty sure I know what kill this is and it’s pretty crazy.” While a third said: “Final thoughts: In A Violent Nature was beautifully shot and had some of the most gruesome kills I’ve ever seen in a horror movie. The yoga kill is worth all the hype it’s getting.”
