“I’d been a signed recording artist in a hugely successful girlband for a long time.

“But I had to take time out for my health and then couldn’t get signed after that.

“It was devastating. I felt like I wasn’t good enough anymore.

“It leaves scars and makes you feel insecure.

“It’s taken me a long time to rebuild the confidence to release my own music but the dream never went away. It’s always been itching away at me.”

Natasha, Kerry Katona and Liz McClarnon were in their teens when they found fame in 1999.

They went on to become huge stars with hits like Whole Again and Eternal Flame.

But Natasha struggled to adjust to “normal life” when the band split in 2005. Natasha said: “We were three working class girls from Liverpool.

“I went from sharing a bunk bed with my sister to two-years later flying on a private jet to Cannes while my mum drank champagne in the back.

“We were hanging out with Elton John. We sang with Sir Paul McCartney, while Phil Collins played drums and Bryan Adams played guitar. We had so many incredible pinch me moments.

“But by the end doctors were telling me I was mentally and physically exhausted. I had postnatal depression and needed time off to be a mum, to heal and get healthy.

“By the time I tried to come back to music things just never worked out.”

Natasha continued to perform in a two-piece Atomic Kitten with best friend Liz.

The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star said: “I’ve done nostalgia for a long time and am excited to be doing new music now. I’m proud of myself for not giving up.”

Natasha, who had a baby, Kitty, with husband Charles Gay last August, has vowed to channel her inner “sex kitten” again… to the embarrassment of her older kids.

Natasha laughed: “It did feel strange being sexy for a music video again. I showed my eldest son who said it was good but he also reminded me I’m a mum and have five kids.

“But I’m not just mum… I’m a sexual being so the kids will just need to get used to it.”
