Yet another iconic Love Island couple announces split after record-breaking win

Love Island winners Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan have called time on their romance just months after winning the show.

The pair found love in the ITV villa this summer and became the first black couple to win the dating show. But there have been rumours of trouble in paradise and Mimii has now told fans that they have split and gone their separate ways as “things aren’t going to work out between us”.

She opened up about the sad break-up in a post on social media. Taking to her Instagram Story, telling fans it was a “disappointment”.

“Hi everyone, I know that a lot of you have been wondering about Josh and I and why we haven’t been making appearances,” Mimii wrote. “The truth is we have been trying to figure it out since leaving the villa. But unfortunately things aren’t going to work out between us right now.”

She went on: “I know it’s a big disappointment for a lot of you as it is for me too. Your support for us hasn’t gone unnoticed and I will forever be grateful for it. You guys are the reason we made it to this point.” “God bless you all,” she added, along with a heart emoji.

Mimii and Josh are not the first pair to split after leaving Love Island this summer. Matilda Draper and Sean Stone have also broken up, but have remained good friends.

And Joey Essex’s romance with Jessy Potts didn’t go the distance either. Their relationship ended just seven weeks after he jetted home, with Joey telling The Sun: “Unfortunately, we have decided to call an end to the relationship but I hope we can continue to be friends. I truly wish Jessy the very best with whatever she does in the future.”

Ronnie Vint and Harriet Blackmore have also broken up since they were on the show, which is hosted by Maya Jama. They had a turbulent time when they were in the villa, having been coupled up from the start before splitting then later coming back together. And their bumpy ride continued after they left Love Island, and it has been reported that they have split.
