Strictly icon ‘confirmed’ for I’m A Celeb as co-star admits ‘I’m pretty sure’

A Strictly icon is the next name to be ‘confirmed’ after a former I’m A Celeb star says he’s “pretty sure”.

The jungle drums are beating, and the rumour mill is in overdrive as the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! edges closer, with whispers about the celeb lineup getting louder. In a cheeky slip-up, a former jungle star has ‘confirmed’ one of the hotly tipped names to be joining the campmates.

Ex-Strictly Come Dancing star turned Dancing on Ice judge, Oti Mabuse, has been the talk of the town with buzz around her taking on the jungle challenge. Radio DJ Jordan North, who braved the wilds himself, reckons he’s onto something, spilling the beans on his Capital Breakfast show that he’s “pretty sure” Oti will be gracing the ITV hit this year.

Chatting about the potential celebs and his own hunches on Monday morning, he dished out: “I don’t have any official intel, but I’ve just looked at the list, and I reckon there’s a good few names on there that I can guarantee are going in.”

“I was working with her on Big Brother last year and I’m pretty sure.” Mirror reports that his co-host Sian Welby chimed in with: “Oti was originally one of the professional dancers on Strictly, wasn’t she?” adding fuel to the fire that Oti might be swapping dance floors for bush tucker trials.

Jordan, who nearly nabbed the crown in 2020, coming in a close second to queen of the castle Giovanna Fletcher, had his own taste of fame in the unusual setting of Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Wales, thanks to the pesky pandemic putting Oz off-limits.

Alongside Giovanna, Jordan shared his castle stint with a host of stars including Vernon Kay, Shane Richie, and Russell Watson, making it a series to remember.

Oti first gained recognition in the UK when she joined Strictly Come Dancing as a professional dancer in 2015. She was part of the show from series 13 to 19, securing the title twice with Kelvin Fletcher and Bill Bailey.

After a seven-year stint, Oti decided to leave the show in 2022, while her sister Motsi Mabuse remains a judge on the BBC One series. She made the switch from BBC to ITV and currently serves as a judge on Dancing on Ice, alongside fellow judges Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
