Loose Women star breaks down in tears as she recalls final moments with ‘missed’ co-star

Coleen Nolan was overcome with emotion during her on-air tribute to former Loose Women co-star Lynda Bellingham.

The ex-singer had a close bond with the Oxo advert actress, having shared the ITV stage and been present for her final TV appearance.

Reflecting on Lynda’s last interview on Loose Women, where she told emotional viewers she was stopping her chemotherapy and wanted fans to remember her as “honest”, Coleen couldn’t keep her composure.

Even at that time, Coleen struggled to articulate her feelings and shed tears on set. A decade later, she remembered a poignant moment they shared after the emotional episode.

Lynda, aware that the former Nolan sister found the conversation difficult and would likely need a cigarette break, offered to join her, reports the Mirror.

The singer recalled: “She hated smoking, but she said, ‘I’ll come with you. I might as well have a cigarette’.” Reflecting on this memory, Coleen confessed: “I really miss her,” before breaking down in tears.

Later, the atmosphere intensified when Christopher Biggins joined the cast and paid a heartfelt tribute to the courageous TV star, reminiscing warmly about her character.

Adding to the surprises, Lynda’s two sons Robert and Michael sent a voice message tribute to ITV, which was broadcast on the show.

Lynda’s sons proudly stated that they are still “bursting with pride” at their mum’s incredible legacy, and thanked everyone, including the Loose Women panel, for honouring her memory a decade later.

It was an emotional scene back in the studio with not a dry eye to be found, as the cast and crew paid homage to the cherished star who tragically died on October 14, 2014.

Coleen said she “really misses” Lynda

The ITV team were heartbroken upon hearing Lynda had died in her loving husband Michael’s embrace, which happened nearly two weeks after her last appearance alongside Coleen.

Toward the end of this touching tribute episode, an emotional Coleen stood to give a standing ovation dedicated to her dear friend and former colleague, saying “this one’s for you Lynda,” while host Christine offered a supportive hug.

Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 12.30pm
