Inside Sabrina Carpenter’s relationship drama ahead of Netflix special release

Sabrina Carpenter’s highly-anticipated festive Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas, hits Netflix this Friday (December 6).

Packed with musical numbers, duets, and surprise guests, fans have long had the date marked down on their calendars. However, as anticipation builds for the pop sensation’s holiday extravaganza rumours have swirled about the state of her relationship with actor Barry Keoghan.

The duo have been at the centre of split rumours, with an insider telling People magazine: “They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break.”

Meanwhile, gossip blog Deuxmoi dropped a bombshell hinting that Dublin lad Barry had shifted his affections from the Espresso chart-topper to a ‘semi-famous TikTok influencer’. Though the names were kept under wraps, fans have been speculating that it was Sabrina and Barry, reports the Mirr or.

Following an incognito tip, Deuxmoi shared: “It appears that this A-list singer who’s having her breakout year and her foreign actor boyfriend are done for good. On the closing night of her biggest tour to date in LA, he was busy getting very cosy at San Vicente Bungalows with a blonde, semi-famous, LA based influencer (who’s particularly big on TikTok).”

Keen internet detectives reckon the TikTok star is Breckie Hill, a 21-year-old internet personality with over six million followers across TikTok and Instagram. She’s recently added fuel to the fire by reposting TikToks that hint she is the influencer that Barry has been linked to.

Sabrina and Barry reportedly began dating in late 2023 after being pictured together on multiple occasions. The two have never openly admitted to dating one another but have been seen together at various events.

Sabrina even cast Barry in her Please, Please, Please music video earlier this year, where they played two criminals. Chatting to CBS Sunday Morning about why she chose the actor for the video, Sabrina shared: “I genuinely, like a not even biased opinion, was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video? ‘ And he was next to me, in a chair, and he was so excited about it. And he liked the song, which is great. He’s a fan of the song.”

It is not the first time Barry and Sabrina split rumours have swirled. Back in August there were whispers the pair had gone their separate ways but Barry was still commenting on her Instagram posts. At the time of writing, her Instagram page remains the only one he follows.

Barry split from his ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro in 2023 after three years together, while Sabrina was previously linked with fellow singer Shawn Mendes.
