Julie Goodyear’s husband has deleted a recent photo of the Coronation Street legend after backlash.
The soap icon, who played Bet Lynch, is rarely seen nowadays after her dementia diagnosis. But her husband Scott Brand shared a lovely photo of her after they had celebrated her birthday.
Many of her fans were excited to see the actress. One said: “Wonderful to see her Scott.”
Another wrote: “Lovely Scott,” as another echoed: “Amazing lady.” Meanwhile others rushed to wish her a happy birthday.
Scott had captioned the photo: “Just got home with my lovely wife and we’ve had a fantastic day together. Thank you so much for all your birthday wishes from both of us.”

However, others made it clear they believed he should have kept the personal moment private. Others suggested Julie would not want it shared.
Julie was a Coronation Street regular for over 25 years. She played the iconic role of Bet Lynch, the Rovers Return landlady.
It was announced in June 2023 that she had been diagnosed with dementia. Last year, it was reported that “brave” Julie was “living a good life”, according to a friend.

Mark Llewellin, who was the partner of Julie’s late co-star Roy Barraclough, said on the Conversation Street podcast: “Julie is living a good life, really. She still loves leopard print, I’m pleased to say.”
He went on: “I see her at least once a week, sometimes twice a week, and spend a few hours with her and have afternoon tea at her house, which I call leopard print boulevard.”
Mark explained that she was “quite happy” and often got out of the house. He said they enjoyed eating chocolate cake together – if she let him have some too.
Speaking of her diagnosis, he said: “It’s wrong to say you suffer from dementia, you life with dementia.”
He added: “It changes what you can do and how you look at life, I think Julie has been very brave and strong about that.”
Scott, who is 26 years Julie’s junior, met the actress when he delivered plaster to her house.
He told The Mirror of her diagnosis: “I miss the fun-loving wife that Julie had always been – the larger-than-life personality that brightened up everywhere she went, and the smile that lit up every room.
“All of this is now slowly fading away and it’s extremely painful for me to watch this deterioration.”
