Eamonn Holmes is set to take on a new change in his career after the GB News host’s live theatre show was cancelled at the last minute – and now the reason why has been revealed
Eamonn Holmes is embarking on a new career move following the cancellation of his live show.
GB News frontman Eamonn, 65, is currently grappling after his live theatre show, which was supposed to have kicked off on March 11, was cancelled at the last minute. It comes amid the bitter divorce from former wife and fellow TV star Ruth Langsford, with Ruth now living her life to the fullest a year after the split.
Up until now, the reason behind the last-minute cancellation of the tour had not been given. However, The Sun has reportedly since found out the reason for the sudden dropping of the tour, with insiders saying there were factors outside of their control.
According to sources who spoke with the newspaper, the show had been cancelled due to the venue no longer being available instead of low ticket sales, which had been the primary speculation from fans. The source explained: “There was a disagreement with the venue about last-minute logistics, which meant it was impossible for it to run.
“Eamonn pulled the plug on that particular show, but he knows there will be plenty of other opportunities in the future,” they added. “Eamonn is just cracking on with his new project and throwing himself into it.”
Following the cancellation of the live show, which Eamonn would have hosted with fellow presenter Paul Coyte, the Northern Irish broadcaster is now looking to pastures new. Eamonn is now reportedly looking to start a podcast, with A-list stars set to be at the centre of his questioning.
The insider spilled the beans on the project, saying: “Over the past couple of months, Eamonn has been recording episodes with some massive stars for a brand new podcast. It’s really conversational – heartfelt, emotional conversations with a different names with someone for everyone.”
However, while Eamonn gears up for his new business venture, he will not be leaving his position at GB News any time soon. Instead, he will be continuing to present the breakfast show every Monday to Wednesday alongside his latest co-host Ellie Costello.
Eamonn hinted that there had been delays in the planning for the live theatre show after it was mothballed weeks before it was due to kick Taking a selfie with his co-hosts, he took to his social media to share the update: “Working with my mates Paul Coyte and Deano on our soon to be released podcast/videocast “Things we Like” today.
“Hoping you like the same things,” he added as he gave the update. “Will keep you posted re: launch date.”
Eamonn is trying to steady the shop after ex-wife Ruth revealed that he had been having “intimate chats” with another woman. The long-time broadcaster split from Ruth last May, and is now currently dating relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 43, while Ruth is enjoying her newfound singlehood.
