Caroline Flacks’ family have released a statement after the star was found dead today at the age of 40.

The Love Island presenter’s family have confirmed that she was found dead today, February 15.

A family statement read: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

“We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”

A lawyer for the Flack family confirmed that Caroline took her own life and was found in her east London flat on Saturday.

Caroline started her career as an actress, starring in Bo’ Selecta! in 2002 and then went on to present various ITV2 spin-off shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The TV star also won the twelfth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and in the following year she began presenting the first-ever series of Love Island and continued to do so for the next five seasons.
