Sunday Brunch presenter and restauranteur Simon Rimmer has slammed the government over its advice amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Boris Johnson advised the public yesterday to avoid restaurants, bars and club to stop the coronavirus spread in the UK.
However, the Prime Minister didn’t enforce the measures – leaving many saying they won’t be able to claim on their insurance.
Taking to his Twitter account, Rimmer, 56, hit out at the measures, saying his business was at risk.
Witnessed by his 266,000 followers, he wrote: “After a day when our government tells us to avoid going to bars n restaurants – takings in my 13 sites were down by 66% last night.

“We have no insurance claims to protect us as it’s not an enforced closure. It won’t take long for us to go out of business permanently.”
He then added: “I know lots of you are suggesting we become a delivery based business. It’s not that simple.
“You can’t deliver pints etc. And restaurants aren’t just about food it’s about a whole experience. Plus we have mainly city centre sites.”
Unfortunately for Rimmer, he received some backlash from fans.
One replied: “You have other income, Sunday brunch. Others aren’t that lucky. Stop moaning.”
While another added: “Don’t want to offend but I feel really sorry for people with a small restaurant/cafe and just want to make a living. Does anyone really need 13 restaurants? Genuine question.”

A third chimed in: “This is very wrong obviously, but it’s also wrong you charging £6/pint in Woolton village.”
Despite this, others clearly felt for Rimmer.
One wrote: “My industry is the same, I am now on zero income.”
While another added: “Boris Johnson will have a lot to answer for when this is over.”
