Tom Hiddleston Responds to James Bond Rumors

    WENN

The ‘Loki’ star addresses the internet chatters suggesting he is being eyed to replace Daniel Craig as the new 007 spy agent in the next James Bond Installment after ‘No Time to Die’.

    Apr 16, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Tom Hiddleston has started taking rumours he’s set to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond very seriously.

The star is one of the fan favourites to take on the role, alongside “Bridgerton” star Rege-Jean Page and Idris Elba, and he’s beginning to realise that whatever he says is being held up as a clue about his casting.

Speaking to British movie magazine Empire, Tom said, “What can I say that you don’t already know? It’s interesting in itself that I’ve suddenly become very aware of what I’m saying, is it not? Because there’s something about what I’m saying that becomes the story… for the world outside.”

“Whatever I say, I’ve found, generated more questions.”

Craig’s final outing as Bond, “No Time to Die”, had been due to premiere in April 2020 but was put on hold several times amid the pandemic. It’s currently slated to hit theatres on 30 September, 2021.

Rege-Jean Page previously said he was flattered by the 007 rumors. “I think there might be an element of cultural translation to be done here,” he said. “Like if you’re a Brit, and you do something of any kind of renown, that people regard well, then people start saying the ‘B’ word (Bond). It’s like a merit badge, you get the ‘B’ word merit badge.”

“But I don’t think it’s much more than that. I’m very, very glad to have the badge. I’m glad to be in such wonderful company of people who have the badge. But it’s a badge.”

Idris Elba also responded in kind, “Isn’t 007 supposed to handsome? Glad you think I’ve got a shot!”

Mads Mikkelsen Added to 'Indiana Jones 5'

    WENN

The ‘Another Round’ actor becomes the latest addition to the cast ensemble of the upcoming fifth ‘Indiana Jones’ movie, joining Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

    Apr 16, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Mads Mikkelsen is stepping into another blockbuster role after signing on to join Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in “Indiana Jones 5”.

The “Another Round” star, who last year replaced Johnny Depp as “Fantastic Beasts” villain Gellert Grindelwald, has been added to the cast of James Mangold’s film but details of his role have not been disclosed.

Mikkelsen also played a bad guy in James Bond film “Casino Royale”.

Producers hope the film will start shooting this summer (21). The film is set to hit cinemas in July, 2022.

The fifth movie has been in the works since its official announcement in 2016 and, after a series of delays last year (20), Disney chiefs finally set the movie’s release date for 2022.

The film will be the follow-up to 2008’s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, which earned over $790.6 million (£568.7 million) at the global box office.

“Indiana Jones 5”, however, drew mixed reactions from movie fans and one criticism came from Patrick Schwarzenegger. “I love Indiana Jones but just not sure about this,” the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted following Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s casting.

Fellow actor Elijah Wood disagreed, “Not sure about what exactly? the mighty force of Phoebe Waller-Bridge? the brilliant James Mangold?”

Patrick then clarified he didn’t have issues with the casting or the director but was skeptical about the idea of making another “Indiana Jones” installment.

The producers haven’t responded to the criticisms, but director James Mangold recently said, “I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers.”

“Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”

A “Meat Is Murder” sticker on Riz Ahmed’s refrigerator in “Sound of Metal” has landed him the Sticking It to Meat award while King has been honoured with the One to Watch trophy for “giving senior dogs a shout-out on the world stage and for not forcing a single animal onto the set for her feature film directorial debut, “One Night in Miami…”.

Other prizes have been awarded to director Mike White, who grabs the Best Adapted Screenplay for “The One and Only Ivan”, with PETA spokesperson Moira Colley telling WENN, “The film’s strong anti-captivity message was delivered without exploiting real wild animals. Justin Lin Teases Possible 'Jurassic World' and 'Fast and Furious' Crossover

    Universal Pictures

The ‘F9’ director declares he will ‘never say never’ to the idea of merging the two successful franchises, while ‘Fast and Furious’ star Michelle Rodriguez says she’s ‘all in’ for the potential crossover.

    Apr 15, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
A big studio will surely benefit from having more than one hit film franchise. Just look at Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros., which have been reaping from the box office success of “Godzilla vs. Kong” based on two of their giant monster properties. Now, Universal Pictures may be the next studio to follow suit by merging its “Jurassic World” and “The Fast & Furious” film franchise.

Teasing the potential crossover was “F9” director Justin Lin, who appeared at a press conference along with the cast to talk about the upcoming movie. When a journalist threw a question about a possible “Jurassic World” crossover, the filmmaker replied, “Well, I’ll never say never to anything. And the fact that part of our philosophy is not to ever be boxed in or labeled … that’s all I will say.”

Michelle Rodriguez sounded even more eager for it. “I love it, dude! I’m all in!” she weighed on the potential crossover. The Letty Ortiz depicter claimed that they had been tossing the idea behind the scenes, saying, “We were talking about this yesterday. It’s so funny, but I was talking about this yesterday.”

      See also…

Of why a crossover could be in the future of the “Fast & Furious” franchise, she explained, “Because once you reach a certain pinnacle, there’s nowhere to go but to cross-brand and merge. It’s what big corporations do with each other when they get too big, you know what I mean? You just have to brand and merge with each other.”

She went on noting how it would be made easier since both properties belong to the same studio, “But the only thing standing in the way is lawyers, and studios. Because usually the brands that you’re trying to merge belong to different studios or whatever. But if it’s under the same umbrella? I don’t know. I’m just saying it works.”

While the “Fast & Furious” has never merged with another franchise, it has spawned a spin-off, “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” (2019), which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham. As for “Jurassic World”, the franchise started with “Jurassic Park” in 1993, before Chris Pratt takes the lead of the revived franchise in the 2015 film. A third film in the new trilogy, “Jurassic World: Dominion”, has wrapped production and is set for a June 2022 release.

    Instagram

The Bulgarian actress who makes her big break playing Tutar Sagdiyev in ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’ is vying for the Best Supporting Actress honor at the 93rd annual Academy Awards.

    Apr 15, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“Borat” sequel star Maria Bakalova will celebrate a potential Oscar win with a new puppy. The Bulgarian actress is a favorite to pick up the Best Supporting Actress honor at the Academy Awards later this month (March 2021), and if she triumphs, she plans to celebrate with a new pet.

“Hopefully I’m going to be able to celebrate with [co-star] Sacha Baron Cohen, because I miss him…,” she tells “Good Morning America”. “I hope I’m going to see him at the Oscars and maybe the very next day I’m gonna get a puppy, because I love dogs.”

But first, Maria has to get to her seat at the ceremony, adding, “I hope I’m not gonna fall on the red carpet… My stylist loves high heels, so we’ll see what will happen.”

      See also…

The actress is very excited about attending her first Oscars after watching the prizegiving in the middle of the night over the past decade, “I have been watching it on my small TV at home in Bulgaria and it’s been around 2.30, 3.30, 4.30am usually, Bulgarian time, in the past six/seven years [sic], and now that I know I might be part of it in person and see all these talented people… my mind is going to explode.”

Maria portrayed Tutar Sagdiyev in “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm”. In previous interview about her Oscars nomination, the 24-year-old said, “I’m really honored people recognize comedy and all the hard work and heart we invested in the movie. Behind all of the jokes, there are important messages that Sacha and all the creators of the movie put there.”

“It is a comedy, but it takes a lot of discipline. A lot of people think when you are doing funny scenes, you are probably having the best time of your life because it’s fun. But it’s about the timing,” she continued telling Variety. “With our movie, we literally never had a second take. It was now or never. You’re either going to go with the flow or we won’t have it again.”

Gal Gadot Names Princess Diana as Inspiration for Her Wonder Woman

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The Israeli actress, who has portrayed the DC superheroine since 2016, reveals she based her character on the late Princess of Wales after watching a documentary.

    Apr 15, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Gal Gadot has revealed a surprising inspiration behind her Wonder Woman. While it’s widely known that the character was created by William Moulton Marston and H. G. Peter for DC Comics, for her portrayal of the superheroine in the DCEU, the actress based it on Princess Diana.

The Israeli beauty made the revelation during a virtual awards season chat for Vanity Fair on Tuesday, April 13. Pointing out compassion and caring for others as the same qualities of both the fictional character and the real-life figure, the 35-year-old said she got the idea after watching a documentary about the late British royal.

“I remember watching a documentary about Princess Diana and there was a part where they said she was full of compassion and always cared for the people,” she said during the Vanity Fair Cocktail Hour Live! event, “and that was like, ‘Ding, ding, ding,’ that should be the Wonder Woman we have.”

      See also…

Gadot also explained in the interview that she wanted her character to be both inspiring and relatable. “… How can you connect to a goddess that’s super strong and has it all and [is] super perfect?” she said of Wonder Woman. “I wanted to show her vulnerabilities and heart.”

Gadot first portrayed Wonder Woman, whose real name is coincidentally Diana Prince, in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. She went on to star in the solo film “Wonder Woman” and the ensemble pic “Justice League”, both of which were released in 2017. She most recently reprised the character for the sequel “Wonder Woman 1984” (2020) and “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”, an alternate cut of the 2017 movie.

Princess Diana, who is the mother to Prince William and Prince Harry, died in August 1997 at age 36 after being involved in a car crash in a Paris tunnel. Often dubbed the “People’s Princess,” the Princess of Wales left a legacy that still has a deep impact on the royal family and British society to this day.

    FOX

The remaining contestants in Group A including the Russian Dolls, the Seashell, the Robopine and the Orca take the stage while the Yeti is introduced as the final wildcard contestant.

    Apr 15, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“The Masked Singer” arrived with a new episode on Wednesday, April 14. In the sixth week of season 5, the remaining contestants in Group A including the Russian Dolls, the Seashell, the Robopine and the Orca took the stage while the Yeti was introduced as the final wildcard contestant of the season.

The first contestant to sing that night was the Russian Dolls as they sang Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me”. As for their clues, they included the Lincoln Memorial, a bowl of fruit and a tour bus. Among the guesses were Pentatonix, the Jonas Brothers and 98 Degrees.

Following it up was the Robopine. He hit the stage to perform “Killing Me Softly” by Roberta Flack. In his clue package, the Robopine said that he had been in an action-packed and fast-paced ride. Meanwhile, his bonus clue stated “AKA.” Panelist Ken Jeong believed that the Robipine was Tom Cruise. Meanwhile, other judges named Terrence Howard and Jamie Foxx.

The Seashell was up next, offering a performance of “Tell Me Something Good” by Rufus & Chaka Khan. In her clue package, the Seashell mentioned “Motown”, which she said brought her family together. The panelists thought that this could be Ashanti, Tamia, Keke Palmer or Alicia Silverstone.

The next singer was the Orca, who said that his father held on just long enough to see Orca’s son being baptized. He also shared that his dad’s last words were about how proud he was to see Orca becoming a father. That night, Orca, who also said that he’s a father of 10-year old twins, took the stage to belt out “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” by Poison. Fred Durst, Billie Joe Armstrong and Jeremy Renner’s names were thrown into the mix.

Concluding the night was the Yeti, who showcased an energetic performance as he sang “If It Isn’t Love” by New Edition. He mentioned Aphrodite in his clue, adding that he’s all about love. The panel guessed Ray J, Justin Bieber or Taran Killam.

It was then time to reveal the results of the voting. As he had the least amount of votes, it was reveled that the Orca was eliminated. Before he unmasked himself, the panelists made their final guesses. Jenny McCarthy initially said he might be Dave Grohl, but then she changed it to Kelly Slater. Nicole Scherzinger, meanwhile, stuck with her initial guess which was Dave. Ken switched from Jon Bon Jovi to Billie Joe Armstrong. None of them got it right because the Orca was Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath!

Sharon Osbourne to Have a Sit-Down With Bill Maher After 'The Talk' Exit

    WENN/Instar/FayesVision

The news arrives after ‘The Talk’ co-host Sheryl Underwood, who got into a heated discussion about racism with Sharon prior to her departure, broke her silence on her TV stand-off with Sharon.

    Apr 15, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Sharon Osbourne is set to tell all in an upcoming interview with Bill Maher. The British TV personality has been reported to appear on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Friday, April 16, marking her first interview following her exit from “The Talk”.

HBO confirmed Sharon’s appearance in a press release on Wednesday, April 14. “This week features a one-on-one, in-studio interview with television personality and former host on CBS’ ‘The Talk,’ Sharon Osbourne,” the release said of the episode’s lineup.

The news arrives after “The Talk” co-host Sheryl Underwood, who got into a heated discussion about racism with Sharon prior to her departure, broke her silence on her TV stand-off with Sharon. Addresing Sharon’s demand that she should not “dare cry” to win sympathy during their awkward clash, Sheryl said, “I’m not tearing up because I hurt your feelings or want some sympathy. I’m crying because I have to restrain myself… To be told you can’t do something… I’m a grown-a** woman, but you have to suppress that.”

      See also…

Sheryl also confirmed she had not been in contact with her former co-host since the episode, noting that Sharon did text her. Sheryl went on to say that she chose not to respond because their on-air spat was under an internal investigation.

In the episode, Sheryl confronted Sharon for defending her pal Piers Morgan who claimed that he didn’t believe what Meghan Markle said during her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, including racism allegations leveled at British royal family. “I supported my friend with his freedom of speech and his opinions of what he felt about the interview of Meghan and Harry,” Sharon said at the time. “Did I like everything he said, did I agree with what he said? No. Because it’s his opinion, it’s not my opinion.”

“For me, at 68 years of age to have to turn around and say ‘I ain’t racist’ – what’s it got to do with me? How could I be racist about anybody? How could I be racist about anybody or anything in my life? How can I?” Sharon defended herself. “I will ask you again, Sheryl, I was asking you during the break and I’m asking you again. And don’t try and cry, because if anyone should be crying, it should be me. This is the situation: you tell me where you have heard him say – educate me. Tell me when you have heard him say racist things. Educate me. Tell me.”

Two weeks after the heated argument, CBS announced in a statement that “Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave ‘The Talk’.” The statement continued to read, “The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”
