One Direction superstar Liam Payne has candidly opened up about co-parenting Bear Payne with ex Cheryl.
The Strip That Down singer revealed that he and the former X Factor judge agreed he should spend time apart from her and his son – though says they reached the same conclusion from different angles.
Liam said: “[Lockdown] it’s the longest I haven’t seen him [Bear] in his life.
“But we discussed from the start and for different reasons, me and Cheryl decided I should be away for a little bit.
“It’s not unusual for me to be in and out of his life.
“He’s a quiet and chill child. He doesn’t worry about things too much.”

He added to October’s edition of Tings Magazine: “We made a decision at the start of his life to keep him out of the public eye.
“I suppose for me that’s sort of kept fatherhood out of the public eye as well.
“I get to be a dad and have a family in that way, that’s complete opposite of that [showbiz] zone.
“It’s mine for my own, expect for Cheryl and Bear.”
A rep for Cheryl has been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.

Liam and Cheryl dated from late 2015 before confirming their romance early 2016 after mass speculation.
Despite never officially announcing her pregnancy, Cheryl was spotted with a blossoming baby bump in November that year.
On March 25 the following year Liam confirmed the birth of their son with an adorable snap of him holding Bear, making sure his face was not visible.
Sadly they confirmed their split on July 1, 2018.
Since then Bear has lived primarily with Cheryl with Liam keeping in regular contact and visiting.
Liam previously told Daily Star Online how while Bear understands daddy is a singer he’s baffled when he sees mummy on TV.
Liam said: “Honestly, when Cheryl comes on the TV he just becomes bemused.
“He looks at the TV and starts dancing crazy.”
He added: “Cute things happen, he knows it’s Daddy’s music so he goes, ‘put Daddy’s music on’, which is quite cute.
“The other day I was reading a children’s book online which is for everyone stuck at home with kids and bored.
“I sent it to them first as I thought he has the right to see it before everyone else and apparently he was saying it over and over again.”
