Corrie spoilers: Gary murder exposed, Leanne heartache and brutal exit

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed next week’s Christmas episodes will be filled with festive cheer as well as the usual Weatherfield drama.

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) faces heartbreak when both Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) are distracted by the children in their life – leaving her alone on Christmas.

Meanwhile, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) come to an emotional realisation about their relationship just as the snow starts to fall on December 25.

On top of that, Gary Windass (Mikey North) gets a grilling from both his suspicious wife Maria Connor (Samia Ghadie) and the police, as Rick Neelan’s murder comes back to haunt him.

Below are the juiciest Corrie spoilers of the week, with some added Christmas magic.

Leanne makes a difficult decision

When Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) reveals she’s been offered a job in London, Sam begs Nick to let him live with him.

He’s conflicted but tests things out by inviting Sam over to the flat for a day with Leanne.

She tries to put her heartbreak aside and cooks up a Christmas dinner for Sam and Nick, wrapping presents under the tree.

Nick is moved by the gesture, but things go pear-shaped when Leanne catches Sam playing with Ollie’s old toy, and gets upset.

Leanne insists it would be better if Nick moved into a place of his own with Sam, giving them some space to get to know each other.

He reluctantly agrees and starts planning to spend his first Christmas with his son.

Toyah’s baby joy

Toyah and Imran get the opportunity to foster a baby in time for Christmas

With Nick moving out into his new flat, Leanne turns to Toyah for comfort.

However, her sister has learned she will be fostering a baby named Mason on Christmas Day, and excitedly starts preparing her home with Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo).

After getting off to a good start with the baby, Toyah and Imran later start to panic, eventually turning to Gemma Winter (Dolly Rose Campbell) for parenting tips.

Meanwhile, all of Toyah’s messages to Leanne have gone ignored, as her sister’s grief becomes overwhelming.

With Toyah and Nick preoccupied with children of their own, will anyone remember to keep Leanne company this Christmas?

A Christmas wedding to remember

In a Christmas special, David and Shona re-enact their wedding day

After Shona breaks into the Bistro, Ray Crosby (Mark Frost) threatens David, promising to report her to the police unless he drops the planning application.

The incident leaves David and Shona confused, and when they try to talk out their relationship issues, she accidentally gives off the impression she’s no longer interested.

David is heartbroken and suggests they should end their marriage, leaving Shona secretly devastated.

She breaks the sad news to Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher), while David tells his family it’s over between himself and Shona.

However, on Christmas Day, Shona gives David a giant stuffed rabbit as a tribute to his pet Barney.

Later, the pair are forced to bring Lily to the hospital after she stuffs a bead up her nose.

While there, David realises the kids will be devastated to lose Shona, giving him food for thought.

Back on the cobbles, Shona storms off when she catches Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) flirting with David, only for him to chase after her.

The pair make up, and David comes up with a plan to reenact their wedding day, giving them a fresh start.

After months of heartache, are David and Shona finally back where they need to be?

Todd’s meddling ramps up

Can Todd be trusted, or is Billy right to be suspicious?

Proving as manipulative as ever, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) encourages Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) to treat Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) to a date night at home, complete with a takeaway.

However, when a distressed caller named Will asks Paul to meet up, he agrees to go.

Paul has become overly invested in Will, who had a violent stepdad as a child, and is breaking the helpline’s rules in getting involved.

Todd says he will lie on his behalf, and then hunts down Billy, keeping him company in the pub.

Paul eventually says that Billy needs to know the truth, though Todd begs him to leave his name out of it.

When Billy finds out, he warns Paul to stay away from Todd, fully aware of his conniving behaviour.

Is Todd successfully pushing Billy and Paul even further apart?

Gary faces the music

The police will question Gary Windass in the station in upcoming scenes

Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is quizzed by the police about Gary’s relationship with Rick, and lies to cover her tracks.

Meanwhile, Maria grows suspicious and interrogates Gary, asking him whether he was responsible for Rick’s murder.

The police take him in for questioning, where he denies having anything to do with Rick’s disappearance and is eventually let go.

Sarah furiously confronts Gary and accuses him of moving Rick’s body – only for Maria to walk in.

She orders Gary to tell her the truth, and then throws him out of the house, sickened by his lies.

Gary spends the night at the furniture shop, and when he returns, he finds Rick’s daughter Kelly in the flat with Maria.

She begs him for answers about her dad, tearfully admitting she recently received a Christmas card from Rick.

Is it curtains for Gary, or can he weasel his way out of his web of lies?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8pm on ITV.
