Good Morning Britain presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard had a very fiery clash on today’s show as they had a heated debate over whether it is acceptable to recline on a short haul flight.
The pair rowed after a video of an American Airlines passenger hitting the back of a seat after becoming irritated when the woman in front reclined her seat mid-flight.
Kate claimed she would recline but never go back fully, but Ben quickly cut her off mid-sentence and said: “No OK, but the seats don’t go fully back. The seats only go a small portion back.”
She hit back: “Hey, let me finish. We haven’t had a row in 20 years. It might kick off this morning.”
Ignoring her pleas, Ben said: “Here’s the thing. You’re absolutely right. There’s a reclining function on all these seats.”

Kate desperately tried to get a word in, but Ben continued: “Just because you can, should you do it when you’re on a short haul flight and make everyone uncomfortable?”
She then claimed that Ben was “smug” when the poll came back showing 76% of viewers were on his side.
“Currently the poll is considerably in my favour,” claimed grinning Ben.
Hitting back, Kate said: “That’s because you keep setting up the story in your favour. No one is talking about reclining the seat all the way back.”
Ben replied: ” don’t need to put my case forward as the majority of viewers are putting it for me.”
Huffing Kate said: “Because I’ve not had a chance to.”

It seems that viewers of the show took Ben’s side during the row, as one fan posted: “You’re coming across very hostile and rude just because Kate doesn’t agree with you…what’s your name, Piers? Chill out mate!”
Another added: “For God’s sake Ben, let Kate speak and stop talking over everyone.”
