Josie Gibson hits out at fat-shaming troll who labelled her weight gain 'vile'

Josie Gibson shut down a body-shaming troll this week, branding their online behaviour as “rude” before her 336,700 followers.

When a troll took to Twitter to send the 35-year-old This Morning presenter a nasty remark about her weight, Josie wasted no time in putting them in their place.

The troll accused Josie, who welcomed her first son Reggie-James last year, of looking “absolutely vile” in the sickening comment.

Sharing the original message, which accused her of gaining weight, Josie wrote: “But you are being rude, so you do mean to be rude.

“Don’t let my weight gain break your heart, honestly there is so many more things in the world to care about that really do matter.”

Witnessing the online clash, Josie’s followers were quick to applaud her dignified response, sending a message out to the other cyberbullies lurking on Twitter.

One said: “What happened to being kind. Take no notice and just feel sorry for people like that. I love your adventures and you’re such a great sport…..you and Alison should have your own show because you are both so funny. You’re Fab Josie.”

“Totally agree,” wrote a second.

And a third penned: “Fantastic come back. There is no need to be rude. Don’t like someone, fine but keep it quiet and move on. I think you are stunning Josie anyway xx”

Josie has publicly documented her battle with her weight since her rise to fame, having become a household name on Big Brother back in 2010.

In 2013, the Bristolian beauty dropped from a size 20 to a size eight, after seeing photos of herself on a beach encouraged her to embark on a fitness journey.

The following year, she released a weight-loss guide titled The Josie Gibson Diet: Love Food, Get Slim, Stay Slim, crafting healthy and nutritional recipes for her fans.

In the guide, she advised fans: “First and foremost you’ve got to learn to love who you are and like yourself.

“If you don’t like who you are you’re never going to treat yourself with good nutritional meals and you will never think you’re worthy enough to be the best that you can be.”

Last year, after giving birth for the first time, Josie went on MuscleFood’s Do The Unthinkable: Diet and Exercise Plan in an effort to shed her pregnancy weight.

Opening up to Daily Mail about her weight gain while expecting, she said: “I kept kidding myself that it was OK because I was growing another human.”

The ITV star continued: “I constantly have to watch what I eat – I just have one of those bodies. If I’m eating the wrong things, then I just balloon.

“Bread is really not my friend and so what did I crave while pregnant? Marmite and cheese sandwiches.”
