Lorraine interview branded 'disaster' as Chris Kamara disappears off-camera

Lorraine Kelly got flustered on Friday’s show when Chris Kamara branded their interview as a “disaster” after he disappeared from the screen.

The legendary footie star, 62, was due to appear on the show to discuss his new album, which is titled Here’s To Christmas and will be released in time for the festive season.

Unfortunately, when he first joined the show via video call, his internet connection kept sputtering, leading Lorraine to temporarily draw the chat to a close.

After hosting a fashion segment, Lorraine returned to Chris – but he had left his computer behind, leaving just an empty room on display.

Panicking over the mishap, Lorraine started clutching her head and doubled over in laughter.

“That’s hilarious,” she exclaimed.

Thankfully, Chris eventually returned to the screen and remarked: “What a disaster. I’m useless, I’m sorry.”

Laughing, Lorraine replied: “It’s you, it doesn’t matter – we forgive you everything.”

The pair went on to discuss Chris’ new album, and recalled the moment he jumped out of Lorraine’s birthday cake to celebrate her 60th birthday.

Revealing he’d been inside the baked dessert for 20 minutes before theatrically popping out, he said: “My back was killing me!”

Eventually bringing the interview to a close, Lorraine made reference to the rocky opening to their chat, saying: “I’m so glad we got you in the end, my angel.”

Meanwhile, over on Twitter, Lorraine viewers made it clear the mishap had put a smile on their faces, as they reacted to the filming blunder.

“Chris Kamara cracks me up all the time,” wrote a second.

“I’m only watching for Chris and his amazing laugh,” added a third.
