The Chase fans slam build-up to new Chaser as quizzer nowhere to be seen

The Chase viewers were frustrated after realising the new Chaser wasn’t going to be unveiled during Friday’s episode.

ITV have been teasing fans all week with a silhouette of the new quizzer, and fans thought today was the day they’d see the new show addition at last.

Bradley revealed that British reigning quiz champion Paul Sinha was the Chaser, and fans went into meltdown on social media.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their frustration at having to wait until next week for the new quizzer.

One raged: “Spent all week thinking they’d use the new chaser on Friday, this is getting ridiculous now, whats the b***dy point!”

While another tweeted: “Noooo. F*** off” with four angry face emojis.

A third penned: “F*** sake what a waste of a week waiting for Darragh”.

Another fan typed: “All week you have been saying about the new chaser and with it being Friday we thought they would be playing today and as much as I love Paul Sinha I was disappointed that Paul came out! When is the new chaser going to make an appearance ITV?”

“Thought they were gonna drag out the new chaser till today but I’m guessing it’ll be next week now. Ffs”, added a fifth.

Former contestant Darragh Ennis teased it was him taking on the new role earlier this year, telling his social media followers he was “really excited to be the 6th chaser”.

He wrote: “I’ve been working hard on this for a while now and can’t wait for my episodes to air. Well the ones I win anyway.”

Tonight’s clever team impressed viewers, Bradley and Chaser Paul with their knowledge.

Alex, Steve, Alisha and Mo all made it into the final chase, and were playing for an astounding £29,000.

They gained an amazing 22-step lead against Paul, known as The Sinnerman, which meant they had a good chance of winning the cash prize.

After a tense final round, the team were victorious, as Paul ran out of time with several questions still to answer.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
