AceShowbiz – Chris Cornell‘s daughter paid tribute to her father during the weekend’s, April 17-19, LiveXLive’s Music Lives digital music festival by performing a rendition of his Temple of the Dog track “Hunger Strike”.
Wearing a T-shirt featuring an image of her dad, Toni Cornell covered the song while on lockdown.
“I love you daddy, and I hope do this song justice,” she said, explaining “Hunger Strike” was one of her favourite songs.
Toni was happy to be part of LiveXLive Music Lives (https://www.livexlive.com/), staged to raise money for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, revealing her late dad would have been happy to be part of the cause if he were alive.
“If my dad were here, I know he would have been the first to donate his time and effort,” Cornell wrote on social media. “Thank you for including me, I am honored to be part of this and to help spread love through music.”
She also revealed the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation would be donating $50,000 (£40,000) to the fund.
Nas and Swae Lee were also part of the two-day livestreaming charity concert.
