Lorraine presenter Andi Peters playfully knocked his co-star Ross King on today’s show, as the conversation turned to GCSE results.
Joined by doctor Amir Khan, the duo discussed the best coping mechanisms for students who have received disappointing results.
Amir and Andi then went on a trip down memory lane, recalling the day they received their own GCSE results.
However, when Ross then appeared on the show to share the latest celebrity news, Andi took a swipe at the showbiz reporter’s age.
He asked the 58-year-old correspondent whether he was too “old” to have received results in the modern GCSE exam system.
He asked: “Do you remember your GCSE’s or are you old and you did the other ones.”
Thankfully, Ross accepted the swipe graciously and quipped about “dinosaurs roaming the earth” when he was in school.
He said: “We did. We did ‘O-grades’ in Scotland when dinosaurs roamed the world and I had an abacus. And my tablet then really was like a tablet that you chip into.”
The Lorraine crew then shared a photo from his teens, showing a young Ross with shaggy hair and a vest top.
Ross mused: “I remember then, my mum saying to me ‘Ross, you’re not the tallest, you’re not the most talented, you’re not the best looking…’ and that was it.”
The studio erupted into laughter, and in another cheeky swipe, Andi remarked: “Can I just say, looking at this picture of you Ross, your mum was right!”

Poking fun at himself, Ross replied: “I think I was tall then. I think I have shrunk. I looked like I played basketball.”
Born in Glasgow, Ross has since moved to LA, becoming ITV’s resident showbiz guru on shows such as Lorraine and GMB.
With an early taste for the entertainment industry, the Scottish star made his first stage appearance at age of four, and went on to host his own radio show in his teens.
Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am on ITV.
