While Charlie Sheen has enjoyed a successful career in Hollywood, which has seen him appear in many cult-classic TV shows and box office hits, his private life has also played out in the spotlight.
The actor shot to fame after he appeared in Oliver Stone’s Vietnam movie Platoon in 1986, but by the 1990s, his partying lifestyle had become tabloid news.
Sheen has been involved in a number of dramas and scandals over the years, such as his explosive divorce from first wife Denise Richards, and his infamous “tiger blood” meltdown in 2011.
Daily Star Online has taken a deep-dive into Sheen’s much-talked-about lifestyle, on the same day the actor celebrates his birthday.

In 1995, Sheen was one of several famous clients named in the trials against “Hollywood Madam” Heidi Fleiss.
At the time, he said “I love sex and I can afford it”, admitting in videotaped testimony that he ordered Fleiss’ call girls at least 27 times and ran up a tab of more than $50,000 (£37,500).
Two years later, the Two and a Half Men star was convicted of battery with serious injury after his then-girlfriend Brittany Ashland said Sheen attacked her at his home.
Ashland’s attorney at the time, Gloria Allred, told ABCNews.com that he pleaded no contest, paid a fine and was placed on two years’ probation.

In June 2002, Sheen married actress Denise Richards at the estate of Spin City creator, Gary David Goldberg.
The former spouses share two daughters together.
In March 2005, while pregnant with their second daughter, she filed for divorce from Sheen, accusing him of substance abuse and making violent threats.
They later reconciled, only for the Starship Troopers star to reinstate her divorce proceedings a year later.
In a 17-page court declaration, obtained by E! News, the actress made a number of shocking allegations against her estranged husband, including claims regarding his dalliances with prostitutes, his drug and gambling addictions and his threats to harm.

Elsewhere in the filing, Richards alleged that when they enjoyed their brief reconciliation in 2015, she discovered that Sheen had been visiting pornography websites, featuring “very young girls, who looked underage to me, with pigtails, braces, no pubic hair, performing oral sex with each other,” as well as sites “involving gay pornography also involving very young men who also did not look like adults”.
Consequently, a judge ordered Sheen to stay at least 300 feet from Richards, her home, her car and their two daughters, except during supervised visits with their children.

He went on to marry Brooke Mueller in May 2008, and she would later give birth to twin sons.
A year later, he was arrested on Christmas Day in Aspen, Coloroda, and booked on suspicion of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief in a domestic-violence dispute with his wife, Brooke Mueller, as reported by US Today.
Sheen pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour assault charge in the domestic-assault case stemming from the Christmas incident and was ordered to spend 30 days in rehab as part of a plea deal at a court hearing in Aspen.
In 2011, Bree Olson, one of Charlie Sheen’s former “goddesses,” claimed she enjoyed a threesome with Sheen and ex-wife Brooke, at Sheen’s request.
“I didn’t mind it,” she admitted to Access Hollywood. “She’s hot.”
Brooke hasn’t spoken out following the allegations.

In 2011, Sheen made headlines when he gave a series of erratic interviews that saw him claim he had “tiger blood”.
During an interview on Today, he said that he does not need rehab because the Alcoholics Anonymous manual was “written for normal people, people that aren’t special, people that don’t have tiger blood, you know, Adonis DNA”.
He was fired from Two and a Half Men after he phoned into a radio station, criticising the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre.
In a rambling rant, he made a series of bizarre claims, including calling himself a “high priest” and a “Vatican assassin-warlock”.
Sheen’s most notorious interview was on ABC, where he said he was still on drugs, one called Charlie Sheen.
“I am on a drug. It’s called Charlie Sheen. It is not available because if you try it once you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body.”
He went on to say the reason he survived mammoth drug binges was because he had “tiger blood” in his veins.

On 17 November 2015, Sheen confirmed he was living with HIV, in an exclusive, live sit-down interview with Matt Lauer on The Today Show.
“I’m here to admit that I am, in fact, HIV positive,” he said.
“I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks, of sub-truths, and very harmful stories that are about threatening the health of so many others, which couldn’t be farther from the truth.”
