David Walliams has revealed the Britain’s Got Talent’s live shows won’t air for several months.
Appearing on This Morning earlier today, the 48-year-old comedian opened up about the current season of the hit ITV talent show.
The pre-recorded audition episodes, which were filmed in January and February, are currently airing on Saturday evenings on ITV.
However, David revealed the live shows will not air until this autumn – instead of the usual May air-date.
He said: “We’ve had to put them back till the autumn. So there will have to be a gap.”

Reaching out to BGT fans, he announced: “Hopefully people will forgive us this gap.”
David also praised the current season of BGT, branding it “uplifting” as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread unease throughout the nation.
He said: “It’s such a celebration of British eccentricity.
“I’m really glad that ITV decided to go ahead with it.”

During the lockdown period, David has been spending his days with his son Alfred, seven, homeschooling him and reading Roald Dahl books together.
With a smile across his face, he told hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield: “I’ve actually really enjoyed having the extra time with my son.”
In his spare time, David has also written another children’s book, titled “Slime”.
