Emmerdale viewers were left scratching their heads tonight when Vanessa Woodfield managed to win a game of pool.
The vet, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, decided to let her hair down and celebrate best pal Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoe Henry) birthday.
Heading to a bar from their college years, Vanessa’s (Michelle Hardwick) face lit up when she realised the original pool table remained in the corner of the joint.
A college student named Josh challenged her to a game, with the two placing money on the table to raise the stakes.
Sinking pints throughout the competition, Vanessa managed to win the game, as she knocked one of the red balls into the net.
However, certain eagle-eyed viewers realised the black ball still remained on the table – making it impossible for Vanessa to have won the match.
One chimed: “Ain’t you suppose to pot the black to win a game of pool?”
A second added: “So potting one ball instantly wins her the game?…don’t think that’s the rules.”
While a third agreed: “How the f*** did she win, there’s a yellow and red and a black on the table?”
“On #emmerdale some bird has just won a game of pool without potting the black. Good research team,” added a fourth.
After the victorious pool game, Rhona started to panic when Vanessa refused to go home.
Instead, she got caught up in a screaming match with Josh, after he cruelly poked fun at her colostomy bag.
The economics student started complaining about his college fees, prompting Vanessa to reply: “Can you hear that? It’s the smallest violin in the world.
“You’re all so full of it making your plans for the future.”
Turning nasty, he swiped: “She must be on something. I think she keeps her drug stash in that little bag.”
Making her point loud and clear, Vanessa hurled a drink in his face before storming out.
Emmerdale airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm.
