Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden, who stars as grocery shop owner David Metcalfe, has gone through a homemade hair transformation.
Because of the coronavirus lockdown, David has been unable to get his quiff snipped back, as he and the rest of the nation are forced to stay indoors.
And while he hasn’t been able to make a trip to the barbers, David has some hairdressing helpers at home who were ready to give him a cut.
Taking to Instagram, the soap hunk shared a video of him having his head shaved, with his son Buster going wild with the clippers.
The clip later showed David’s wife and co-star Charley Webb finishing off the hair cut, with the caption: “With a little help from mum…”

He captioned it: “Beard trimmer head shave! Not the best cut I’ve ever had. Thanks Buster.”
After his hair transformation the actor, posted a selfie to his feed for his 162,000 followers – though it wasn’t the only change visible.
David also had his face covered in different colours, with a red stripe on his forehead, black smeared over most of his face, and bright green ears.

He captioned the shot: “Hair by buster… Face by Bowie… bags under my eyes by Ace… frown on my face by Charley! A family effort for my look today.”
The dad-of-three finished with the hashtags “stay home”, “stay healthy” and “stay safe”.
His new look racked up more than 9,000 likes and plenty of comments.
One said: “OMG is this you Matt? What’s happened to your hair?”

Another wrote: “Never looked better.”
And a third added: “Love it, a real family effort.”
Of course, a buzz cut is nothing new for Matthew, as he previously shaved his head when his character was involved in a cancer storyline on Emmerdale.
Nowadays, David’s biggest trouble is dealing with having a baby dropped off on his doorstep.
Emmerdale is currently airing Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV
