Emmerdale fans predicted heartbreak for Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) tonight after her son Lucas discovered a loaded firearm.
Brandishing it in front of Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), the toddler almost fired the gun – threatening tragedy.
Luckily, Billy managed to convince him to hand over the weapon before disaster struck.
Taking to Twitter, viewers predicted the incident with the gun would spell devastation for mum Dawn, as she fought to regain custody of son Lucas.
Lucas was taken into care when Dawn battled drug addiction in the past, but now that she’s on the straight and narrow, she has been working hard to prove herself to social services.
One viewer said: “Nooo. Back to care for Lucas and Dawn was trying so hard too.”

A second added: “Will Lucas shoot Dawn when she walks in? Custody definitely denied.”
And a third remarked: “Lucas got a gun no!!! Dawn’s not gonna have much luck being a good mum, hope she will one day.”
When Dawn returned to the house, she was oblivious to the afternoon’s stunt and offered to take him out for ice cream.

Once she was out the door, Harriet confronted ex-convict Will, ordering him to tell Dawn about the illicit firearm.
She said: “I’m willing to bet there isn’t a licence on that thing!
“Just tell us why you brought a loaded firearm into this house.”

Will explained the gun was a safety measure to protect the family, begging Harriet to keep the incident a secret from Dawn.
Has Will put Dawn’s quest for custody in jeopardy?
Emmerdale continues on weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
