Fifi Geldof spitting image of late mum Paula Yates 20 years after her death

Fifi Geldof looked like her late mum Paula Yates’s doppelganger as she enjoyed a night out.

The make-up artist, 37, sported a new short bleached blonde hairstyle on a night out in Earlsfield, London just like her mum, who tragically died aged 41 of a drug overdose in 2000.

Fifi, who is also the daughter of Live Aid hero Bob Geldof, finished her look with a long floral dress which exposed the tattoos on her arms.

Paula’s daughter, who previously had long dark hair, was seen boozing with friends at the Leather Bottle pub and later sitting outside a pizza restaurant with friends with a bottle of prosecco.

At aged 20 Big Breakfast and The Tube presenter Paula started working as a journalist, writing a column – Natural Blonde – for the Record Mirror and posed for Penthouse magazine.

By the early 1980s, she had found success as a TV presenter, hosting The Tube with Jools Holland, and even released a single – a cover of Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made For Walking.

Paula’s presenting career continued to go from strength to strength and she became hugely famous for her ‘on the bed’ interviews for Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast

Paul also found love with Boomtown Rats frontman, Bob Geldof, and the pair married and had three daughters.

In 1995, Paula walked out on her marriage to Bob and she and Michael went public with their relationship.

The couple had one daughter, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence, the following year.

But tragedy struck in November 1997, when Michael was found dead in his hotel room in Sydney, Australia.

Paula was inconsolable, and when a paternity test just a few weeks later revealed her biological father was Hughie Green and not Jess Yates, the star began to struggle.

In June the following year, Paula tried to take her own life and her ex-husband, Bob, won full custody of the three daughters they shared.

Fifi previously told how she suffered from depression since her parents split up when she was 11.

She also told how “a piece of my heart and my soul” had gone after the death of her younger sister Peaches, 25, as a result of a heroin overdose in April 2014.

Fifi said the death of her mum in September 2000 at the age of 41 drove her to booze and drugs and her weight soared.

Fifi married sand sculptor Andrew Robertson in Kent in 2016.

They got hitched at the same church where her mum and sister Peaches are buried.

Paula had a hugely successful career as a music journalist, on Channel 4’s cutting-edge music programme alongside Jools Holland.

Later Paula became famous for her bed-based interviews on The Big Breakfast, which was produced by Bob.
