George Michael’s ex-boyfriend Fadi Fawaz has reportedly been arrested amid a police investigation into criminal damage on a vehicle.
Fadi, 47, could be seen in a video published by The Sun walking by parked cars as he appeared to be clutching a hammer while wearing a red and black jacket and green sandals.
The former hair stylist looked a shadow of his former bubbly self in the videos and pictures taken by local residents.
Police later confirmed that a man had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a knife and class A drugs.
An investigation is now ongoing.
The scenes occurred on Friday evening in Bethnal Green, East London.
The hairdresser was also reportedly spotted seeking accommodation in the area last week.
Speaking to The Sun, jeweller Kamal Hussain, 43, whose wife’s Toyota was damaged, was left shocked when he found out who it was.
He told the publication: “He looked as if he had been living rough and it’s hard to believe this was George Michael’s ex.
“I heard all the commotion, then saw him as the police arrived.”
The dad-of-three added: “I recognised him from pictures of himself with George.
“He clearly needs help. George’s family should not have just left him high and dry.”
In the video footage shared by the publication, he appeared to flag down a taxi before being handcuffed by a police officer and led to a police van, where he was seen following cop’s orders.
Fadi tragically found George dead in his bed just four years ago, leaving the world shocked by his sudden departure.
Former Wham star George was found dead by Fawaz on Christmas Day in 2016 at his mansion in Goring, Berks, at just 53 years of age.
