GMB fans threaten to 'switch off' as Piers Morgan returns after coronavirus test

Piers Morgan left viewers threatening to “boycott” Good Morning Britain today as he made his return to work on the show.

The 55-year-old ITV presenter was back on the programme today after having a week off when he tested negative for coronavirus.

Many fans were left raging as they watched Piers embark on a fiery rant about the new government coronavirus plan.

Viewers even threaten to “switch off” GMB today as Piers made his return to the morning programme.

One said: “Just switched on…. switched back off again due to the stupidity and moaning. Great attitude for a Monday morning NOT! We’re all trying to remain positive and your show leaves us in a stinker of a mood…”

While another wrote: “Piers Morgan back and nonstop slagging off Boris Johnson and the Government already. No wonder everyone turning off Good Morning Britain. Piers Morgan the new king of doom and gloom…”

“Switch it off guys #BoycottGMB” added a third.

Despite the many raging viewers, there were also those happy to see Piers back on their television screens.

One said: “Glad to see Piers Morgan back on GMB.”

While another tweeted Piers saying: “Absolutely loving having you back.”

Yesterday saw Boris Johnson announce that the UK’s lockdown would be easing, which sparked some confusion across the nation.

Taking to Twitter, Piers said: “So nothing’s really changed then. Total waste of time.”

He proceeded to announce his return to GMB and also revealed that ministers are boycotting the show.

Morgan said: “I’ll be back on @GMB tomorrow with @susannareid100 – but just been told the Govt won’t be.

“They’re still boycotting us for asking ministers basic questions about the crisis that they were embarrassingly incapable of answering. So we’ll interview @NicolaSturgeon instead.”

Fans continued to “turn off” during today’s GMB, slating Piers for being too “argumentative”.

Another wrote: “Piers on? Then I won’t be watching…”

While another fumed: “Oh please bring back Ben Shephard, Piers is so depressing and argumentative , it’s Monday morning!”

“Sorry but had to switch over to the BBC, repeatedly going on and on and on and on and on without any answers is absolutely ridiculous” tweeted another GMB viewer.
