Gogglebox star George Gilbey has revealed he is working in a supermarket to help out during the coronavirus outbreak.
The 36-year-old, who joined the cast of Gogglebox back in 2013, shared the news over Twitter this weekend.
Taking a selfie in his Morrisons uniform, George admitted to doing his part in the fight against the global pandemic.
He captioned the photo: “All gotta do our bit… #nightwork #nervous lol #COVID2019.”
His followers took to the comment section below, thanking the Channel 4 star for his work throughout the fight against Covid-19.
One wrote: “Well done. Stay safe. Cheers x.”
A second agreed: “Stay safe, appreciate the hard work.”
“Good for you mate, always had a hero status,” added a third.
Supermarket employees have been branded heroes in recent weeks thanks to their tireless efforts to keep the country running throughout the pandemic.
Leading chains like Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Ocado and Morrisons have offered their staff bonuses to thank them for working during the Covid-19 crisis.
While the majority of other industries have been instructed to work from home, supermarket employees fall into the category of essential workers.
Morrisons’ People Director Clare Grainger announced this week: “Our highly valued colleagues have stood tall amidst the coronavirus pandemic, playing their full part in feeding the nation.

“We want to thank every single one of them for their continued hard work during these unprecedented times by paying a much higher guaranteed bonus for the whole year in recognition of their effort.”
George isn’t the only celebrity doing his part to keep the country going amid the coronavirus outbreak – Love Island ‘s Anna Vakili also returned to work.
The 29-year-old star trained as a pharmacist but decided to take time off work last year, embarking on a reality TV career.

Doing her part for the UK and returning to her old job, she said: “First day back working as a Pharmacist since leaving Love Island. It’s been almost a whole year!
“Wow can’t believe how fast it’s gone. Wasn’t really planning on registering yet but with everything that’s going on it felt wrong not to.”
Before adding: “We can all fight this together. Stay safe. Stay home. Save lives.”
