Holby City has started filming again for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown halted production.
BBC show bosses have revealed the popular medical drama has commenced work on a special episode that sees Holby City hospital gripped by the coronavirus pandemic.
They added that Covid-19 will be present in the series going forward.
The special episode will see Holby City’s CEO Max (Jo Martin) wrestle to keep the hospital under control, trying her best to keep her staff safe amid the pandemic.
However, it’s not just the pandemic Max is fighting, as Ric (Hugh Quarshie) goes head to head with Max, having previously lost all trust in her.

The difficult task proves harder than anyone could have imagined, and it begins to take its toll on Max and the Holby City staff.
Holby City’s production team have developed comprehensive production protocols to ensure that the series is produced in a safe and responsible manner.
They will adhere to government social distancing guidelines to ensure that the cast and all those involved in producing the show are safe.

The BBC drama will be back on screens later this year, running at the slightly shorter duration of 40 minutes.
