Jason Manford is playing his part in helping out during the coronavirus pandemic, by driving OAPs to their medical appointments.
The 38-year-old comedian took the gig after he was rejected by supermarket giant Tesco after applying to become a customer assistant.
With his theatre shows cancelled due to the coronavirus lockdown, Jason decided to use his time wisely and do his bit in the fight against the virus.
Keeping his fans updated, Jason shared a snap of his “volunteer driver” badge over Twitter, as he headed to pick up a pensioner.
Spotted out and about, a member of the public snapped a photo of Jason on the job, saying: “When Jason Manford turns up to pick up your elderly neighbour for her appointment #hero.”

In the shot, Jason could be seen smiling and waving at the camera, wearing his volunteer placard with pride.
The new gig comes days after the Tesco Express in Wilmslow, Cheshire, turned down his job application, leaving the stand-up star “livid”.
Sharing his rejection email, he fumed: “Absolutely livid @Tesco. I was only trying to do my bit. I hope the better person got and enjoys the job, I’ll be watching.”

The email insisted that the position was “now closed,” thanking the funnyman for his application during “these unprecedented times”.
Luckily, another major supermarket chain has offered Jason a job stacking shelves, as Iceland reached out over Twitter.
Their official account tweeted: “Our door is always open for you. Help us out for the day and we’ll make a donation to the NHS in your name.”

Taking them up on the offer, Jason asked that his wages be donated to his charity, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
He said: “I’m on it Iceland. Happy to do a shift if you can donate my wages to the charity I’m patron of, @CAFTcharity.”
Known as CAFT, the charity offers holidays and day trips to ill, disabled and disadvantaged children living in the North West of England.
