Katy Perry has shared her upset after announcing that her beloved cat Kitty Purry has died 15 years after she first took her in off the streets.
The Last Friday Night singer took to Instagram with a handful of photos of herself with the fluffy moggy as well as a heartfelt caption.
The mum-to-be wrote: “Kitty Purry crawled through my then-boyfriends window 15 years ago, fully pregnant and seeking shelter.
“Two litters and many moons later, this street cat became a loveable mascot to many.
“Sadly, Kitty completed her 9th life last night. I hope she rests in salmon fillets and tuna tartare way up in catnip heaven.”
Katy continued: “Kitty, thanks for the cuddles and companionship along the way.”
Many of Katy’s 94.1million followers rushed to pay their respects, with more than 1.3m leaving a like.
Fashion designer Jeremy Scott commented: “Legends never die.”
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner left a series of heartbroken emojis and a praying hands emoji.
Celebrity stylist Johnny Wujek said: “Love you Kitty Purry. You’re a legend and you will fur sure live on in us all.”
One fan wrote: “Aww. We’ll all miss you Kitty Purry.”
And another said: “Aww no. Rest in paradise, Kitty Purry. Still my favourite pet name ever.”
The cat was popular among Katy’s fans and even featured in the music video for her smash hit single I Kissed a Girl.
And while Katy many have one less furry child, she will become a first-time parent later this year, as she’s expecting a baby with her partner Orlando Bloom.
