Katy Perry has opened up about her relationship with comedian Russell Brand – speaking frankly about their marriage.
Chatting on 60 Minutes Australia, the Cry About It Later songstress admitted that she became swept up in the romance of finding the one.
Katy said: “I was having great success at 23, 24 and 25, and then I met someone that was interesting and stimulating.
“It was just like a tornado. It was everything happening once.”
Katy who gave birth to her first daughter with Orlando Bloom last week added: “[I have] always resonated with friction and resistance and challenges.
“I know that inherently [about myself].

“Like, ‘OK, it’s gonna take a lot of work but oh, we’re gonna get somewhere great,’ or, ‘It’s gonna be a beautiful diamond.
“All this pressure is gonna turn into [that].”
Katy and Russell married in India in 2010 after a whirlwind romance.
Sadly they were only together for 14 months before they split in 2012.

Reports claim Russell dumped Katy via text.
Talking about her currently relationship with Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando, Katy added: “It’s very open, very communicate, nothing is swept under the mat.”
“It’s like, we should probably walk into the other room to discuss when we disagree because we’ll do it in public.
“If we can get to the ends of our lives together, we’ll be each other’s greatest teachers.

“This is solid. This is, like, the main course.”
Speaking about the breakdown of the marriage in her film Katy Perry: Part Of Me, Katy previously said: “Being in love is a dream, but the reality is not like the movies.
“There’s a lot more compromise and sacrifice.”
“The truth is I’m a romantic and I believed in the fairy tale… I did everything I could but it still failed.”
