Nick Cannon fans concerned as Mariah Carey's ex posts messages from 'heaven'

Television star Nick Cannon has taken to social media to share concerning messages after receiving backlash after making offensive remarks on his podcast.

The 30-year-old presenter tagged the location as “heaven” while posting two messages, one on his Twitter page and the other on his Instagram account.

Mariah Carey’s ex-husband took to Twitter and wrote a few words, leaving certain followers feeling concerned as he urged fans to “enjoy Earth”.

Nick penned: “I hurt an entire community and it pained me to my core, I thought it couldn’t get any worse

“Then I watched my own community turn on me and call me a sell-out for apologizing. Goodnight. Enjoy Earth.”

He also added in a separate tweet: “Y’all can have this planet. I’m out!”

Nick shared the tweet on his Instagram as well and tagged “Heaven.”

The star’s concerned fans rushed to leave supportive messages on his social media pages, with one urging the star to call 911 for a “wellness check”.

Another penned: “Anybody else think this tweet sounds *very* concerning?”

A second added: “Protect your mental health at all times.”

While a third penned: “Nooo!! Please. Take a break away from social media. Surround yourself with your love ones.”

A fourth added: “It’s okay Nick!”

The concerning social media activity comes after the father of three shocked certain listeners during an episode of his Cannon’s Class podcast alongside former Public Enemy member Richard “Professor Griff” Griffin.

Nick explained that he believes Black people are “the true Hebrews”.

The TV presenter said: “When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”

He added: “It’s never hate speech. You can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people, when we are the same people who they want to be.”

The American actor also touched on skin colour and claimed that people without dark skin live in fear.

Nick said: “And I’m going to say this carefully,” he began, alleging that people who lack sufficient melanin are “a little less.”

The rapper received backlash soon after when his employer ViacomCBS – where he has spent years leading his popular Wild N’ Out show – fired him.

In a statement, the company said they condemn “bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism”.

Nick quickly took to multiple social media platforms to apologise.

He wrote on Instagram: “First and foremost I extend my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth…

“They reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from.”

He added: “I want to express my gratitude to the Rabbis, community leaders and institutions who reached out to me to help enlighten me, instead of chastising me.

“I want to assure my Jewish friends, new and old, that this is only the beginning of my education.”

While Nick was dropped by ViacomCBS, it has been confirmed he will keep his job at Fox as the host of The Masked Singer US.
