Paris Hilton has claimed she was “tortured” by staff at her American boarding school in the 1990s, as well as being “abused mentally, emotionally and physically”.
The businesswoman spoke candidly about her experiences in her forthcoming documentary, This Is Paris, which is set to air on September 14.
Paris, 39, was sent to boarding school after her famous parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, struggled to deal with her rebellious behaviour and sent her to a string of boarding schools.
But, the final school she attended, Provo Canyon in Utah, was to be the last and she would stay there for 11 months.

Speaking to People magazine, the Hilton heiress said: “I buried my truth for so long, but I’m proud of the strong woman I’ve become. People might assume everything in my life came easy to me, but I want to show the world who I truly am.”
The blonde bombshell said: “I knew it was going to be worse than anywhere else.
“It was supposed to be a school, but [classes] were not the focus at all.”

“From the moment I woke up until I went to bed, it was all day screaming in my face, yelling at me, continuous torture,” said Hilton.
Paris went on to claim: “The staff would say terrible things. They were constantly making me feel bad about myself and bully me. I think it was their goal to break us down.
“And they were physically abusive, hitting and strangling us. They wanted to instil fear in the kids so we’d be too scared to disobey them.”

Several of the singer’s former classmates also appear in the upcoming documentary making similar allegations.
The former party girl went on to say that she was “having panic attacks and crying every single day” and was left feeling like a “prisoner”.
She recalled: “I didn’t really get to speak to my family, maybe once every two or three months. We were cut off from the outside world. And when I tried to tell them once, I got in so much trouble I was scared to say it again.”

Paris added that staff at the school would rip up letters and tell students that their families would not believe them.
A spokesperson for Provo Canyon told The Sun: “Originally opened in 1971, Provo Canyon School was sold by its previous ownership in August 2000. We, therefore, cannot comment on the operations or patient experience prior to this time.”
Paris famously grew up in New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel with parents Rick and Kathy Hilton and siblings, Nicky, 36, Barron, 30, and Conrad, 26.

She is set to bare her soul in the documentary, allowing fans to get to know the real her.
“I feel like the whole world thinks they know me. No one really knows who I am. … I don’t even know who I am sometimes. I didn’t used to be that way…
“Sorry, I’m so used to playing a character that it’s like hard for me, to like, be normal.
“I just created this brand, and this persona and this character I’ve been stuck with ever since.”
Daily Star Online has approached Provo Canyon for comment.
