Phillip Schofield has broken his silence after fans suggested he had a boyfriend earlier this evening.
After a springtime stroll in the countryside, the 58-year-old This Morning star posted a snap alongside a male walking companion during the coronavirus lockdown.
Phil hit back at claims that his walking pal was his boyfriend after fans flooded the comment section with speculation – confirming they were simply mates.
The daytime TV star came out as gay earlier this year after being married to Steph, with whom he shares his two daughters, for nearly 27 years.
The TV presenter snapped back at fans who suggested his friend in the photo was a romantic partner.

His Instagram snap saw him all smiles with his friend, as Phil captioned the picture: “First socially distanced walk with a mate! Thank you @sischofe .. last person I had a drink with before the wheels fell off, first I’ve seen as we try to reattach them!”
Phil was left raging after one cheeky follower wrote: “Mate is that what they call it nowadays.”

He shot back at the follower, typing the middle finger emoji and writing: “Yes! A mate! That’s what they still call family friends who you’ve known for 20 years and come round to check if you’re OK.”
Phillip explained Simon was a family friend of 20 years and they had also worked together in recent years.

According to his LinkedIn page, Simon was the producer for the production company The Knights Of Music – the same company Phil has worked with – in 2016.
Phillip enjoyed the walk as he ventured out of his home for the afternoon with his friend after Boris Johnson’s lockdown rules were eased last weekend.
The Prime Minister announced that people are allowed to see one person outside their household as long as they kept a two-metre distance.
