Piers Morgan has hit back at online trolls who have sent him “death threats” while petitioning to get him sacked from Good Morning Britain.
Despite the 55-year-old controversial ITV presenter receiving social media hate, he’s had more fans petition for him to stay on the popular morning programme.
He took to Twitter today to slam the haters as he continued to challenge government ministers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Piers shared a tweet with his 7.5m followers saying: “Memo to trolls: the more you try to silence me with foul-mouthed abuse, death threats and petitions for me to be fired, the louder and harder I will challenge the Govt over its handling of this crisis. Lives depend on it.”

He addressed one user who said: “Enjoy your big garden, sip the expensive wine and give us a day off.”
Piers clapped back: “I’ll give you a lifetime off, relax. BLOCKED.”
GMB has seen its TV ratings soar over the past week with thousands of fans divided over Piers’ interviewing style.

One petition to keep Piers on-air is called: “Keep Piers Morgan on GMB for his common sense approach to life”.
While the opposing petition is titled: “Remove Piers Morgan from Good Morning Britain”.
Both petitions have seen a major spike in signatures after Piers caused 4,000 complaints over his “combative” interviews with Care Minister Helen Whately and Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

He was accused of “bullying” over his intense interviewing techniques as he grilled the minister about the number of deaths due to coronavirus.
Earlier this week Piers insisted that his “passionate” interviewing approach has been misconstrued as “bullying” on the ITV show.
Piers outlined a number of questions he wants to ask MPs about testing during the coronavirus crisis.
Ofcom cleared Piers after investigating his April interview with Matt Hancock, after 600 viewers called up to complain.
The watchdog explained: “Viewers would expect him to challenge senior politicians and hold them to account.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
