Sarah Harding 'agreed' to Girls Aloud reunion weeks before cancer diagnosis

Sarah Harding had reportedly secretly “agreed” to reunite with her Girls Aloud bandmates for their 20th anniversary.

The girl band, which took over the early 00s and includes Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and of course, Sarah, were apparently in talks for a mega money deal.

According to The Sun, the girls were allegedly in discussions for a cash-spinning deal for shows and tv appearances.

There were also in talks to make and release an album in 2021 and several tour dates.

The source alleges that Sarah, 38, is heartbroken as she had been desperate to join her old pals for rehearsals at the end of the year.

Her bandmates are now close in touch with her many sources have said and are being by her side as she battles chemo, so the comeback plans are on hold.

A source told The Sun: “The gang started early discussions at the beginning of last year.

“It was all very cloak and dagger, but the girls were all hopeful of agreeing contracts later this year and getting concrete plans in place.

“Poor Sarah was desperate to make this happen, so her diagnosis has been doubly devastating.”

They continued: “At the moment, all anyone cares about is that she gets the treatment she needs — the music comes second.

“But for the first time in years, all five girls are back in regular contact — even if under the most heartbreaking of circumstances.”

The source claims the comeback could have made each of the girls an estimated £4million.

News of their reunion comes three days after Sarah took to her official Twitter account to announce that she has breast cancer.

She wrote on Twitter : “Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping safe and well during these uncertain times.

“I’ve not posted on here for so long, thank you to everyone who has reached out to check in on me, it really does mean a lot.

“I feel now is the right time to share what’s been going on.

“There’s no easy way to say this and actually it doesn’t even feel real writing this, but here goes.”

Sarah continued: “Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body.

“I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can. I understand this might be shocking to read on social media and that really isn’t my intention.

“But last week it was mentioned online that I had been seen in hospital, so I feel now is the time to let people know what’s going on and this is the best way I can think of to do so.

“My amazing mum, family and close friends are helping me through this, and I want to say a thank you to the wonderful NHS doctors and nurses who have been and continue to be heroes. I am doing my very best to keep positive and will keep you updated here with how I’m getting on.

“In the meantime I hope you’ll all understand and respect my request for privacy during this difficult time. Sending you all so much love….xx”
