The Chase returned to our screens this evening for a celebrity installment of the ITV quiz show, in an episode re-run from 2016.
Host Bradley Walsh welcomed four famous faces to the show, all hoping to win some cash for their chosen charities.
The cheeky presenter was eager to see former Emmerdale hunk Michael Parr, England footballer Alex Scott, Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe and TV presenter Bill Turnbull get through to the final with some money in-hand.
Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace was in the hot seat tonight trying to prevent the hopefuls from going home with the cash prize.
Michael, Alex, Jennifer and Bill all took it in turns to take on the cash builder round, and later went head-to-head with The Dark Destroyer in an intense round of general knowledge questions.
Michael, who played Ross Barton in the ITV soap, was the first famous face to make it home safe and dry, but unfortunately Alex didn’t end up making it through to the final chase.
Hollyoaks babe Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, was the third contestant to take on The Dark Destroyer – but fans were not impressed with the effort.
Jennifer, 36, admitted on the show that her general knowledge was “terrible” and passed the majority of her questions in the cash builder round.
She scored £2,000 which she could choose to play for, but was offered £1,000 to take a step closer to home or £50,000 for choosing the harder option against the Chaser.
Jen chose to play for £1,000 with the support for her teammates.
Fans of the ITV quiz show were gobsmacked by the amount of “easy” questions Jennifer got wrong or passed.
Taking to their keyboards, one fan tweeted: “Jennifer had some of the easiest questions on this show possibly ever and passed most of them LMAO.” [sic]
Another added: “Jennifer is a mess, pressing the wrong answer but guessing the right one afterwards.”
A third penned: “Jennifer Metcalfe loves the word ‘Pass’. Some of the questions were easy.”
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
