The Chase viewers go wild with desire for lucky contestant Mary

The Chase viewers were in awe of blonde contestant Mary tonight, who, alongside Geoff, Andy and Sheila, were hoping to take home thousands of pounds in prize money.

Mary, 30, was second in line to take on the cash builder and viewers were distracted by her looks, but not impressed by her quizzing knowledge.

One crude Chase fan tweeted: “Seat two Mary is quite good looking, I would.”

Another wrote: “There’s something about Mary…”

A third noted: “Mary has a lovely voice.”

While somebody else simple wrote “Mary”, followed by a string of heart-eye emojis.

Luckily, her time on the show wasn’t cut short, as she made it through to the final chase.

However viewers were fairly surprised she managed, as she hadn’t had a very successful run so far.

One tweeted: “I’m shocked Mary got through. She was like a lamb to the slaughter!”

And a second added: “Only luck can save you now Mary…”

Mary, Geoff and Sheila managed to make it back to the final chase with a cool £16,000 in the kitty.

Only 22-year-old computer science student Andy failed to make it back, after being knocked out of his round.

However they were no match for Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha, who beat them with 19 seconds remaining, meaning they went home with nothing.

Despite their loss, the final three didn’t do too bad in the final chase.

They managed to get four push backs on Paul, who probably could have beat them in a quicker time had he not taken a while to answer some questions.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV
