The Voice Kids viewers flabbergasted as Kerry Katona's daughter wows in audition

The Voice Kids returned to ITV on Saturday evening and a familiar TV personality made an unexpected appearance.

Judges will.i.am, Paloma Faith, Danny Williams, and Pixie Lott were once again on the hunt for singing talents from Britain’s best youngsters and came across Heidi.

Heidi, 12, discussed her love of singing in her VT and confessed her mum was part of a pop girl group.

The teenager revealed her mum was Kerry Katona, who rose to fame thanks to being 1/3 of girl band Atomic Kitten.

Heidi Katona auditioned with Macy Gray’s I Try

Heidi, who suffers badly with nerves, said she was determined to “try [her] best” in front of the judges, before stepping out on stage to perform.

Standing in front of the foursome, Heidi sang Macy Gray’s I Try, and her vocal range quickly caught the attention of the judges including will.i.am who swiftly pressed his buzzer and turned around.

Despite her shaky performance, Heidi was a hit with both the judges and the live studio audience.

Kerry broke down in tears watching her daughter sing on The Voice Kids

will.i.am said: “You still opened up your mouth and your notes came out. You have a really awesome voice.”

Meanwhile, Danny, of McFly fame, chipped in: “What you did was so special – your voice has so much potential and I would love to get your mum involved and help us out!’

And viewers at home praised Heidi, with one suggesting she was better than her mum during the Atomic Kitten glory days.

The judges comforted the youngster as Heidi opened up about her famous mum

“D’awww, bless her! Kerry Katona’s, daughter has a great standout voice,” one wrote.

While another gushed: “Say what you want about Kerry Katona but her children are just a credit to her! So polite and Heidi is an absolute star!”

A third penned: “Better than her mum,” while a fourth added: “Heidi is quite sweet, and a better singer than her mum.”
