Tipping Point fans fume at Ben Shephard after spotting annoying habit

Tipping Point fans weren’t impressed by Ben Shephard on this evening’s episode, as they accused him of making a habit of encouraging players to pass on quiz questions.

After two players were eliminated, just two remained – quiz hopefuls Alex and Helen.

The rules of the game mean a player can pass on a question if they don’t know the answer, inviting their opponent to take a risk by answering it for themselves.

Generally seen as the safe option, players who pass aren’t at risk of losing any money, but it can make for boring viewing for those at home.

After both Alex and Helen decided to “pass” on a number of questions this evening, Tipping Point viewers fumed at Ben, accusing him of “encouraging” them to pick the pass option.

Taking to their keyboards, they vented their frustration as they begged the ITV star to urge the players to take more risks.

One quipped: “Ben is just encouraging them to pass now! #tippingpoint.”

A second agreed: “Ben saying you can pass this if you like. That’s all they’ve b****y done so far! #tippingpoint.”

“Say the word ‘pass’ one more f***ing time – I dare you! #tippingpoint,” chimed a third.

With £950 to his name, Alex made it to the final, as he shared his plans in spending his winnings with Ben.

He explained: “I swam with dolphins last year so I would quite like to do that.”

Ever-enthusiastic, Ben replied: “That would be a great way of celebrating a jackpot!”

Much to viewers’ delight, after a nail-biting final round, Alex took home the jackpot – meaning a sun-soaked swim with dolphins is on the cards.

Tipping Point airs on weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
