Vinnie Jones has opened up about visiting a psychologist three times a week to cope with the tragic death of his wife Tanya.
The footballer-turned-actor says he was left feeling drained as the anniversary of her death approached and so he sought help.
Vinnie, 55, said: “I’m seeing someone three times a week. I thought I was doing OK, and then the anniversaries of Tan’s death and our daughter Kaley’s birthday were approaching and it was like somebody just drained the life out of me.
“It feels like you’re pushing a truck with no petrol from here to Manchester uphill on the M1.”

He heartbreakingly added: “I’ve kind of shut myself away from close friends as well. I don’t know why.
“I watch a movie on TV but just stare through it, I’m not taking it in.”
Tanya died in July 2019 after a short battle with cancer.
She was just 53 years old.
At the time Vinnie was just days away from filming the judges houses stage of X Factor: Celebrity.

While he pulled out of the auditions at Simon Cowell’s home he joined the show at the live finals in memory of Tanya.
Vinnie has now penned an autobiography called Lost Without You: Loving and Losing Tanya about their relationship.
Opening up about the book, Vinnie said: “This is not a love story I ever wanted to tell, because I hoped it would just go on and on, and never end.
“I thought that we’d grow old together. I never wanted it to be a tale.
“But here I am, a middle-aged man sitting at the kitchen table as the California light fades, thinking about the coming night and how to get through it.
“Trying to explain to someone – to anyone – what it was like to live through something extraordinary: an amazing three decades that happened to me. Three decades that are now over.”
