Zac Efron's 'dad bod' transformation on Netflix show leaves fans gobsmacked

Hollywood hunk Zac Efron looks completely different in his new Netflix series and fans are loving his new look.

The 32-year-old actor appears more rugged and sports a beard in his new show, a far cry from the ripped physique he proudly showed off in the Baywatch reboot back in 2018.

He shot to fame as hunky Troy Bolton in High School Musical 14 years ago and the star has had fans swooning over him ever since.

Zac has reinvented his image for his new Netflix show Down To Earth, a docu-series where he travels the world to experience different cultures and explore environmental sustainability.

The Disney star covers up his signature abs and impressive muscles for the majority of the show and can be seen sporting a more rugged look with longer hair.

Viewers have described Zac’s new physique as looking “a bit huskier” and some have labelled him “a Daddy,” which is slang for an attractive older man.

Fans have been left with their jaws on the floor over Zac’s facial hair, lack of an overly defined six-pack and chest hair.

He does appear shirtless during the Netflix show and viewers have rushed to their keyboards to discuss the star’s “dad bod” transformation.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Zac Efron with a dad bod is everything.”

Another gushed: “Yes! Daddy Zc Efron is the twist 2020 needed.”

While a third posted: “It’s annoying how much of a crush I have for Zac Efron’s dad bod.”

A fourth agreed: “Zac Efron has major dad bod and I luv it.”

Zac shot to fame as Troy Bolton in Disney’s High School Musical back in 2006

Speaking back in April about his appearance in Baywatch, Zac said: “I realised that when I was done with that movie, I don’t ever want to be in that good of shape again.

“You’re working with almost no wiggle room, right? You’ve got things like water under your skin that you’re worrying about, making your six-pack into a four-pack. S**t like that it’s just not … it’s just stupid.”

Zac is reportedly making every effort to dodge the spotlight while in coronavirus lockdown in Byron Bay, New South Wales.

He posted to Instagram for the first time since early June on Monday but tactically chose to tag his location as “around the world”.

Uploading a promotional image for his new Netflix series, Zac simply captioned the post: “Love you guys. #downtoearth #netflix.”
