Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is returning for a glittering new season, the show’s Geordie hosts have thankfully confirmed.
With filming already underway, the ITV primetime series will be hitting our screens next month, with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly in the hot seat.
Announcing the show’s comeback, Ant and Dec took to Twitter this week to confirm the return of the “happiest ninety minutes of the week”.
From their joint account, they wrote: “The happiest ninety minutes of the week is back this February! Who’s ready for the non-stop show show to be back on your telly? @itvtakeaway.”

The announcement comes after much speculation from fans, who suspected a new series could be on the horizon earlier this month.
When the duo shared a snap of Ant strapped to a chair on January 11, they asked fans: “What the hell’s going on here?”
With fans guessing SNT was in production, the presenters went on to reveal the new series would be filmed to adhere to covid safety regulations.
They added: “We’re back at work that’s what! Bit of covid-compliant @itvtakeaway filming… Who’s excited for the new series.”

In a recently-released teaser for the 17th series, Declan could be seen slipping into a gold dress and blonde wig, dressing up for one of the show’s many comedy sketches.
Taking advantage of the ITV wardrobe department, the judges transformed in the trailer, donning cocktail gowns, dressing up as PJ and Duncan, and eventually working their usual tailored suits.
Scenes from Ant vs Dec to Win The Ads and the End of the Show Show could also be glimpsed in the brand-new trailer.

Last year’s Saturday Night Takeaway underwent a radical format revamp when the coronavirus pandemic struck, ditching the live studio audience and enforcing social distancing.
For the series finale, Ant and Dec hosted the show from their homes, broadcasting via video call as they said goodbye to the 16th season.
SNT has won the comedy double act a number of awards over the years, most recently landing The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award back in 2018.
