BBC Breakfast’s weatherwoman Carol Kirkwood was less than impressed at Dan Walker’s “large slice” comment on today’s show (June 9).
The host made a quip on Wednesday’s programme when he and colleague Louise Minchin introduced the weather forecast segment.
He said: “I promise you we would have a ‘large slice of Carol’ looking ahead for the next few days to the weather, and we can do that now. Good morning Carol!”
Carol, feeling taken aback, replied: “Good morning both of you, I’m not sure about ‘large slice’. Anyway.”
She the moved on to give a weekend weather forecast, which could see a high of 29C on Sunday (June 13) in the southeast region of England.
Signing off the segment, Dan said: “A perfectly-sized slice there Carol, thank you very much!”
The pair laughed off in the studio and Carol added: “Well recovered, Dan.”
Some viewers commented on Dan’s light-hearted jibe and called him “cheeky”.
It comes after Louise announced that she is to leave the news programme after appearing as a regular anchor since 2001.
The 52-year-old held back her tears and said: “I’m just going to take a deep breath for this.
