BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has revealed that his upcoming Strictly Come Dancing routine song choice will be a sweet tribute to his wife.
The broadcaster will be performing to Sarah’s favourite song as he takes to the dancefloor to perform a Viennese Waltz on Saturday night.
Dan and his partner Nadiya Bychkova will be dancing to She’s Always a Woman by Billy Joel.
He also mentioned that Nadiya has choreographed the dance with his wife in mind.
He said: “It’s one of my wife’s favourites, I gave it to [Nadiya] right at the start and said if I could ever dance to this, this would be amazing.
“Nadiya has choreographed it with my wife Sarah in mind so hopefully we’ll get it right.”
Dan went on the describe that the pair had a ‘moment’ this week while they were dancing their latest routine together.
“You know what though, we had a ballroom breakthrough this week.
“I’ve always said to Nadiya in the Cha Cha Cha or in the Paso you can shout a bit and in the Cha Cha you can go for it and give it everything that’s how you get the joy and the fun across.”
Nadiya then added that in ballroom they can get the ‘joy’ across by two people being in ‘harmony’.
Dan added: “Today we had a little moment, didn’t we and at the end of the dance I said to Nadiya ‘I get what you’re talking about for the first time’.”
In last week’s programme Dan and Nadiya performed a Cha Cha to MC Hammer’s Can’t Touch This where they scored 26 points out of a possible 40.
However, it was actor Greg Wise who left the show in Week Four as he performed a Samba and scored less than half, being awarded 19 out of 40 points.
He was up against Loose Women’s Judi Love who had been in the bottom two the week before as well.
It has also been announced that Judi will be missing a week of the show as she has now tested positive for coronavirus.
Strictly: It Takes Two airs weekdays on BBC Two at 6.30pm
